Characterization Studies for Derived Biodiesel from the Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) of Waste Cooking Oil through a Fixed Fluidized Bed (FFB)

Biodiesel production through transesterification or catalytic hydrogenation using vegetable oil is a sustainable method, but it has the downsides of by-product generation and higher cost. Therefore, in this study, waste cooking was selected as raw material, fluidized cracking carried out on catalyst (LDO-75) fixed-fluidized-bed (FFB) reactor. The effects reaction temperature, catalyst–oil ratio weight hourly space velocity (WHSV) yield pyrolysis gas, gasoline, diesel heavy fractions were studied. composition gas determined by chromatography (GC), gasoline fraction analyzed chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), characteristics nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). results show that light olefins are main products gases, liquid mainly composed aromatic compounds. In addition, process fluid proposed, indicating includes deoxygenation, oligoaromatization hydrodeoxygenation. study will provide basis for high value-added utilization oil.
