Characterization of the MADS-Box Gene CmFL3 in chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemummorifolium is one of the four major cut flowers in world, with high ornamental and economic value. Flowering time an important characteristic chrysanthemum that affects its value market. In Arabidopsis, FRUITFULL (FUL) gene plays a key role inducing flowering. Here, we isolated FUL clade MADS-box gene, CmFL3, from inflorescence buds. CmFL3 localized cellular membrane nucleus, showed no transcriptional activity yeast. The qRT-PCR assay was strongly expressed leaves, receptacles, disc floret petals. Furthermore, mainly detected meristem bract primordia using situ hybridization. Similar to overexpression induced early Particularly, expression level CmAFT downregulated, whereas CmFTL3 upregulated leaves transgenic lines. Meanwhile, Arabidopsis also led earlier AtFT, AtAP1, AtLFY, AtFUL significantly increased Arabidopsis. present study verified function regulating flowering further revealed it could affect other flowering-related genes—CmAFT CmFTL3.
