Characterization of interfacial properties between fibre and polymer matrix in composite materials – A critical review

چکیده
Synthetic fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composite materials have been widely used in engineering fields, e.g., civil, automotive, and aerospace industry, due to their high specific modulus strength, corrosion resistance, relatively durability. The interface between matrix is critical for the short-term long-term performance of FRP shear lag stress transfer from via interface. This paper presents an overview fibre–matrix interfacial properties. First, mechanisms (i.e., interdiffusion, chemical bonding mechanical interlocking) composites are discussed. Next, methodology measuring properties, characterizing morphology composition, numerical simulations on introduced. Lastly, challenges characterization properties highlighted.
