buckling of viscoelastic composite plates using the finite strip method
Finite Difference Approximation of a Parabolic Problem with Variable Coefficients
(1.1) ‖u− v‖Wk p (ω) 6 Ch ‖u‖W s p (Ω), s > k, are of great interest (see [6, 13]). Here u = u(x) denotes the solution of the BVP, v denotes the solution of the corresponding FDS, h is the discretization parameter, W k p (ω) is the Sobolev space of mesh functions, and C is a positive generic constant, independent of h and u. In the parabolic case, instead of (1.1) it is natural to look for erro...
متن کاملFinite Difference Approximation for Parabolic Interface Problem with Time-dependent Coefficients
The convergence of difference scheme for two-dimensional initialboundary value problem for the heat equation with concentrated capacity and time-dependent coefficients of the space derivatives, is considered. An estimate of the rate of convergence in a special discrete W̃ 1,1/2 2 Sobolev norm, compatible with the smoothness of the coefficients and solution, is proved.
متن کاملA finite difference technique for solving variable-order fractional integro-differential equations
In this article, we use a finite difference technique to solve variable-order fractional integro-differential equations (VOFIDEs, for short). In these equations, the variable-order fractional integration(VOFI) and variable-order fractional derivative (VOFD) are described in the Riemann-Liouville's and Caputo's sense, respectively. Numerical experiments, consisting of two exam...
متن کاملSolving a system of 2D Burgers' equations using Semi-Lagrangian finite difference schemes
In this paper, we aim to generalize semi-Lagrangian finite difference schemes for a system of two-dimensional (2D) Burgers' equations. Our scheme is not limited by the Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy (CFL) condition and therefore we can apply larger step size for the time variable. Proposed schemes can be implemented in parallel very well and in fact, it is a local one-dimensional (LOD) scheme which o...
