Isolation and characterization of Faecalibacterium prausnitzii extracellular vesicles
Introduction: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) contain active biological compounds which play important roles in biological processes. The secretion of EVs is a common phenomenon which occurs in archaea, bacteria and mammalian cells. The secretion of bacterial EVs has been discovered in various species of both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. Faecalibacterium prausnitzii is one of the comm...
متن کاملSporotrichoid phaeohyphomycosis due to Alternaria infectoria.
We describe a cardiac transplant patient who had human cutaneous alternariosis with a sporotrichoid distribution of skin lesions. In this patient identification of the causative organism Alternaria infectoria was achieved by sequencing the rDNA internal transcribed spacer domain. Treatment with itraconazole led to clinical resolution within 4 months.
متن کاملCutaneous phaeohyphomycosis caused by Alternaria infectoria.
Organ transplant recipients under immunosuppressive therapy have a highly increased risk of acquiring unusual opportunistic fungal infections. Therefore, diagnostics for uncharacteristic inflammatory skin lesions in transplant recipients must include an appropriate search for fungi. We recently diagnosed a renal transplant recipient with a cutaneous phaeohyphomycosis due to Alternaria infectori...
متن کاملToxigenic profile and AFLP variability of Alternaria alternata and Alternaria infectoria occurring on wheat
The objectives of this study were to evaluate the ability to produce alternariol (AOH), alternariol monomethyl ether (AME) and tenuazonic acid (TA) by A. alternata and A. infectoria strains recovered from wheat kernels obtained from one of the main production area in Argentina; to confirm using AFLPs molecular markers the identify of the isolates up to species level, and to evaluate the intra a...
متن کاملAlternative Methods for Characterization of Extracellular Vesicles
Extracellular vesicles (ECVs) are nano-sized vesicles released by all cells in vitro as well as in vivo. Their role has been implicated mainly in cell-cell communication, but also in disease biomarkers and more recently in gene delivery. They represent a snapshot of the cell status at the moment of release and carry bioreactive macromolecules such as nucleic acids, proteins, and lipids. A major...
