چکیده

Abstract A prototype of the CMOS pixel sensor named Supix -1 has been fabricated and tested in order to investigate feasibility a pixelated tracker for proposed Higgs factory, namely, Circular Electron-Positron Collider (CEPC). The sensor, taped out with 180 nm Image Sensor (CIS) process, consists nine different arrays varying pitches, diode sizes geometries study particle detection performance enlarged pixels. test was carried 55 Fe radioactive source. Two soft X-ray peaks observed were used calibrate charge voltage factor sensor. pixel-wise equivalent noise charge, collection efficiency signal-to-noise ratio evaluated. reconstruction method clustering pixels signal developed cluster-wise studied as well. results show that area large 21 × 84 μm have satisfactory level performance, meeting general requirements This contribution demonstrates using CIS technology, can be tracking upcoming collider detectors akin CEPC.

Active Pixel Sensor Architectures in Standard CMOS Technology for Charged-Particle Detection

The adoption of active pixel sensors (APS), based on an “active” read-out scheme implemented at the pixel level, has been recently proposed for charged-particle detection purposes [1, 2]. Very good performances have been obtained, in particular by exploiting some peculiar features of the actual fabrication technology (i.e., the presence of a relatively deep and low-doped epitaxial layer). In th...

CMOS Charged Particle Spectrometers

Integrated circuits, manufactured in CMOS technology, have been developed as diffusion-based charged particle spectrometers for space applications. Current designs are single-chip spectrometers capable of uniquely identifying and counting electrons and heavy ions. A four-chip spectrometer designed to count protons and heavy ions was flown on the Clementine spacecraft. The spectrometer proton da...

CMOS Active Pixel Image Sensor

This paper addresses the development of a micropower 176 144 CMOS active pixel image sensor that dissipates one to two orders of magnitude less power than current state-of-the-art CMOS image sensors. The chip operates from a 1.5-V voltage source and the power consumption measured for the chip running from an internal 25.2-MHz clock yielding 30 frames per second is about 550 W. This amount enabl...

Particle Tracking with a Thin Pixel Telescope

The anticipated ILC physics program indicates that identification of heavy fermions with high efficiency and purity is of primary importance. The requirements in terms of track extrapolation accuracy are ≃ 5 μm ⊕ 10 μm pt (GeV) . The Vertex Tracker design and the sensor R&D is driven by this requirement. CMOS pixel sensors are an attractive option for the ILC Vertex Tracker. In particular, they...
