چکیده

Changes in atmospheric particulate matter content directly affect the Earth-atmosphere system balance and climate change indirectly environment ecology. Therefore, this is receiving increasing attention. A typical arid area with a fragile ecological frequent dust activities, Xinjiang, China, was investigated using Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) daily aerosol optical thickness Ångström wavelength exponent data to obtain temporal spatial distribution characteristics of long-term aerosols over 20 years. The frequency occurrence calculated accurately identify anthropogenic natural sources, data, such as wind speed, were superimposed quantitatively estimate emissions. factors that influenced emissions are discussed. results show South North Xinjiang obviously different, average depth (DOD) spring higher than other seasons. sources have little variation primarily located Lop Nur, on edges Taklamakan Gurbantunggut deserts, central Tuha Basin, dried-up lakes. mainly distributed farmland areas oasis plain impact fan plain. Natural dominant high spring. caused by production annual account for 8% total Precipitation can promote reduction Topography has an obvious effect formation transportation aerosols, which manifests basin. population density Defense Meteorological Satellite Program/Operational Linescan System (DMSP/OLS) nighttime light reveal, intensity human activities great aerosols. This study provides support research how environmental changes Xinjiang.

Investigation of fungi diversity in airborne dust and their sources identification in Khuzestan province

Background and Objective: Considering the fact that Iran is located in semi-arid climate and the harmful effects of dust storms on different ecosystems, this study aimed to identify and locate dust storms using fungal bio-aerosols (spores) and HYSPLIT model in southwestern region of Iran. Materials and Methods: MODIS satellite images and HYSPLIT model were used to investigate the temporal chan...

Modeling analysis of secondary inorganic aerosols over China: pollution characteristics, and meteorological and dust impacts

Secondary inorganic aerosols (SIA) are the predominant components of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and have significant impacts on air quality, human health, and climate change. In this study, the Community Multiscale Air Quality modeling system (CMAQ) was modified to incorporate SO2 heterogeneous reactions on the surface of dust particles. The revised model was then used to simulate the spat...

Identification of Dust Source Areas and its Characteristics in Eastern Iran

Introduction: Dust storms are natural hazards that effects on weather conditions, human health and ecosystem. Atmospheric processes are directly affected by the absorption and diffusion of radiation by dust, and dust in the cloud acts as a nucleus of congestion. The main dust regions in the world are arid topographies that have soil that is vulnerable to erosion and poor vegetation, easily erod...
