Characterisation of an endospore population of Pasteuria that adheres to the plant-parasitic nematode Heterodera schachtii

چکیده
Summary Selected strains of Pasteuria species from the endospore-forming Gram-positive bacteria group have potential to be developed into control agents for plant-parasitic nematodes. If is deployed successfully as a agent, endospores bacterium initially adhere cuticle infective juvenile. Studies isolated root-knot nematodes suggested that collagen-like fibres on endospore surface interact with receptor second-stage juvenile through host specific ‘Velcro-like’ mechanism. However, very little known regarding biochemical nature mechanism in cyst Here, using several polyclonal antibodies raised whole and synthetic peptides, we compare two populations, one strain nematode, Meloidogyne javanica , another cowpea Heterodera cajani . We demonstrate there differential adhesion beet nematode H. schachtii sugar moieties may protect proteolytic digestion involved endospore’s specificity.

Bacterial rRNA genes associated with soil suppressiveness against the plant-parasitic nematode Heterodera schachtii.
The goal of this study was to identify bacteria involved in soil suppressiveness against the plant-parasitic nematode Heterodera schachtii. Since H. schachtii cysts isolated from the suppressive soil can transfer this beneficial property to nonsuppressive soils, analysis of the cyst-associated microorganisms should lead to the identification of the causal organisms. Our experimental approach wa...
متن کاملThe Relationship of Heterodera schachtii Population Densities to Sugarbeet Yields.
Sugarbeet yields were contpared with field populations of Heterodera schachtii Schmidt. The correlation between sugarbeet yields and viable larvae/g of soil was negative and high, but that between sugarbeet yields and viable cysts/g of soil was lower. Sugarbeet yields were also compared with H. schachtii populations by years of rotation with a nonhost crop. The coefficients of correlation (r) b...

Similar host ranges were found for Heterodera schachtii and a race of H. trifolii parasitic on sugarbeet in The Netherlands. Twenty-nine of 41 plant accessions evaluated were susceptible to H. trifolii. Five breeding lines of the interspecific hybrid Beta vulgaris-B. procumbens which are resistant to H. schachtii were highly susceptible to H. trifolii. An accession of B. maritima with partial r...

متن کاملArabidopsis spermidine synthase is targeted by an effector protein of the cyst nematode Heterodera schachtii.
Cyst nematodes are sedentary plant parasites that cause dramatic cellular changes in the plant root to form feeding cells, so-called syncytia. 10A06 is a cyst nematode secretory protein that is most likely secreted as an effector into the developing syncytia during early plant parasitism. A homolog of the uncharacterized soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines), 10A06 gene was cloned from th...
