Characterisation of acoustic louvres panel for Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) noise control

Abstract This paper presents the results of research about louvre panels with 4 blades, 5 and 6 blades for mechanical acoustical performance which installed at outlet ducting system. The will show up airflow velocity pressure drop, analysed its ability to reduce noise in HVAC System. measurement method used a rectangular linear duct inlet fan as an source loudspeaker source. tested from acoustic parameters TL directivity section, well analysis based on drop. For drop parameter value is 20 Pa louvre, 24 louvre. By using third octave band filter 8000 Hz, highest 27 dB frequency 63 Hz. determine distribution sound energy around outlet, it shows that SPL 1 kHz difference perpendicular angle after being given panel 12 dB. So, installation has small effect, but can be effective reduction.
