Changes in rainfall rates and increased number of extreme rainfall events in Rio de Janeiro city

Increased temperature rates have the potential to change rainfall regime in a given region, as well intensify its extreme events, which may lead significant and negative socioeconomic environmental impacts on urban populations. However, knowledge about extent of changes Rio de Janeiro City (RJC) remains incipient; thus, it is necessary applying indices climate help better understanding this phenomenon. The aim current study investigate distribution increase number events RJC. Daily data deriving from fifteen weather stations distributed RJC were analyzed RclimDex software Mann–Kendall test. analysis has shown increased beginning series approximately first ten years study.
