Changes and Remodeling of Intersegmental Interferences following Bilateral Sagittal Split Ramus Osteotomy in Patients with Mandibular Prognathism

Purpose: This study aimed to measure the amount of change in mandibular angle, intergonial width, and ramus angulation due intersegmental interference changes condyle position after bilateral sagittal split osteotomy (BSSRO) patients with prognathism evaluate correlation between them. Materials Methods: A total 32 who underwent setback using BSSRO mandible manage skeletal during years 2018 2020 at Department Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Pusan National University were followed both clinically cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) for least one year. Those also treated genioplasty or other orthognathic surgery excluded from study. The angle (gonial angle: Ar–Go–Me), width (Go–Go), (sum left right proximal segmental angle) recorded. Changes compared analyzed before (T1), immediately (T2), year following (T3). Results: increased by an average 0.14 degrees (T2–T1) 0.97 12 months postoperatively (T3–T2).
