Direct Synthesis of Hyperdoped Germanium Nanowires
A low-temperature chemical vapor growth of Ge nanowires using Ga as seed material is demonstrated. The structural and chemical analysis reveals the homogeneous incorporation of ∼3.5 at. % Ga in the Ge nanowires. The Ga-containing Ge nanowires behave like metallic conductors with a resistivity of about ∼300 μΩcm due to Ga hyperdoping with electronic contributions of one-third of the incorporated...

متن کاملRoom-temperature short-wavelength infrared Si photodetector
The optoelectronic applications of Si are restricted to the visible and near-infrared spectral range due to its 1.12 eV-indirect band gap. Sub-band gap light detection in Si, for instance, has been a long-standing scientific challenge for many decades since most photons with sub-band gap energies pass through Si unabsorbed. This fundamental shortcoming, however, can be overcome by introducing n...
متن کاملShort wavelength far infrared laser polarimeter with silicon photoelastic modulators.
A short wavelength far infrared laser whose wavelength lambda is about 50 microm is preferable for a polarimeter and an interferometer for high density operations in the Large Helical Device (LHD) and on future large fusion devices such as ITER. This is because the beam bending effect (proportional to lambda(2)) in a plasma, which causes fringe jump errors, is small and the Faraday and the Cott...
متن کاملOptimizing SIFT for Matching of Short Wave Infrared and Visible Wavelength Images
The scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) is a widely used interest operator for supporting tasks such as 3D matching, 3D scene reconstruction, panorama stitching, image registration and motion tracking. Although SIFT is reported to be robust to disparate radiometric and geometric conditions in visible light imagery, using the default input parameters does not yield satisfactory results when...
