CFD Analysis of Sine Baffles on Flow Mixing and Power Consumption in Stirred Tank

In order to enhance the fluid mixing in stirred tank and reduce power consumption under condition of full baffle, a sinusoidal sawtooth baffle was established present study. Based on Eulerian–Eulerian method, numerical simulation mixed flow conducted, reliability method verified by means PIV experiments. The different structural characteristics standard sine were compared, explore effect modified tank. outcomes indicate that structure had reducing drag shunting, which could lessen backflow backside strengthen intensity turbulence strain rate, improve uniformity particle distribution, significantly lower consumption. When relative tooth height 0.333 width 0.028, reduced 11.7%.
