CUP syndrome (cancer of unknown primary) describes the presence histologically proven metastases in an primary tumor. It affects about 3–5% all tumor patients. The search for makes extensive diagnostics necessary. However, 2/3 patients original is not discovered. Operation, radiation, chemotherapy and, some cases, targeted therapy are available as treatment. prognosis unfavorable.
