Cereal rye seeding rate does not affect magnitude of weed suppression when planting green within Mid-Atlantic United States

چکیده

Abstract In the Mid-Atlantic United States, there is increasing interest in delaying cereal rye termination until after soybean planting (i.e., green). Improved understanding of seeding rate effects needed to balance weed and agronomic management goals. We investigated rates on control crop performance when green complementary experiments two regions. The Pennsylvania experiment was replicated at three site-years Delaware site-years. both experiments, population-level responses were evaluated across four rates: 0, 51, 101, 135 kg ha −1 . also implemented a nitrogen treatment factor (0 34 N ; spring applied). Both showed that integrating fall significantly improved winter- summer-annual suppression compared with fallow control, but no differences total biomass production or found among alternative (51 ). Soybean yield did not differ treatments any studies. These results show reason increase for services decrease reasons population yield) employing planting-green tactics no-till within region States.

Epidemiology of uveitis in the mid-Atlantic United States

PURPOSE To demonstrate the demographic, anatomic, and diagnostic classification of patients with uveitis seen in a tertiary care center in central Virginia. METHODS Retrospective chart review of patient demographics, disease characteristics, and disease severity-related outcomes (therapies, visual outcomes, and complications) from 1984 to 2014. RESULTS There were 491 patients (644 eyes) wit...

Does the mid-Atlantic United States sea-level acceleration hot spot reflect ocean dynamic variability?

To test a hypothesized faster-than-global sea-level acceleration along the mid-Atlantic United States, I construct a Gaussian process model that decomposes tide gauge data into short-term variability and longer-term trends, and into globally-coherent, regionally-coherent and local components. While tide gauge records indicate a faster-than-global increase in the rate of mid-Atlantic U.S. sea-le...

Traumatic uveitis in the mid-Atlantic United States

PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to conduct an in-depth analysis of traumatic uveitis in patients managed in a mid-Atlantic tertiary care center with the goal of better characterizing the clinical features and outcomes of this large and important subset of uveitis patients. METHODS This was a retrospective, observational study comparing traumatic uveitis patients with nontraumatic uveiti...

Integrated Weed Management: Soybean Seeding Rate and Residual Herbicide

Increased soybean seed cost in recent years has generated interest in reducing seeding rates to maintain consistent economic returns. However, low seeding rates result in reduced established plant stands with slower canopy development, and canopy development is touted as an important element of integrated weed management (IWM). IWM practices have become even more important to slow the developme...

Repetition probability does not affect fMRI repetition suppression for objects.

Previously several functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies point toward the role of perceptual expectations in determining adaptation or repetition suppression (RS) in humans. These studies showed that the probability of repetitions of faces within a block influences the magnitude of adaptation in face-related areas of the human brain (Summerfield et al., 2008). However, a current ...
