چکیده

Ceramic ZnO-SnO2-Fe2O3 powders and transparent coatings on glasses prepared using the non-isothermal polymer-salt method demonstrate a strong ability to generate chemically active oxygen species under UV visible irradiation. Crystal structures morphologies of these materials were studied XRD SEM analysis. It was found that there are significant differences in crystal structure ceramic thin coatings. O 22: Reactive Oxygen Species and Epilepsy

Seizure activity has been proposed to result in the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which then contribute to seizure-induced neuronal damage and eventually cell death. Although the mechanisms of seizure-induced ROS generation are unclear, mitochondria and cellular calcium overload have been proposed to have a crucial role. We aim to determine the sources of seizure-induced ROS and ...

Reactive oxygen species inhibited by titanium oxide coatings.

Titanium is a successful biomaterial that possesses good biocompatibility. It is covered by a surface layer of titanium dioxide, and this oxide may play a critical role in inhibiting reactive oxygen species, such as peroxynitrite, produced during the inflammatory response. In the present study, titanium dioxide was coated onto silicone substrates by radio-frequency sputtering. Silicone coating ...

Local transformation of ZIF-8 powders and coatings into ZnO nanorods for photocatalytic application.

Silver nitrate induces spontaneous room temperature transformation of ZIF-8 into a composite of ZnO nanorods embedded in a ZIF-8 matrix. This first example of reverse transformation of ZIF-8 into ZnO is a convenient method for generating fixed ZnO nanoparticles in powders as well as films and coatings. The fabricated ZnO nanorod@ZIF-8 is photocatalytically active.

I-3: Reactive Oxygen Species: A Dilemma for

Spermatozoa are very special cells and constantly exposed to the interphase between oxidative stress through high amounts of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and leukocytes, and reduction by means of scavengers and antioxidants. Considering the very special functions of spermatozoa as being the only cells with such high polarization and exerting their functions outside the body, even in a differen...
