چکیده

In 1995 Gebeck & Merrifield studied a successful and unsuccessful treated Class I II’s samples; they found -1.33 mm intrusion in the former 0.80 extrusion latter. The purpose of this article was to perform cephalometric evaluation maxillary incisors torque vertical changes. We sample 129 patients, 30 males 99 females, taken from Charles H. Tweed Foundation Long Term Study, at pretreatment mean age 12.93 years, posttreatment 16.19 years follow up post retention 29.83 13.88 interval. records were collected private practitioners across North American continent who used Standard Edgewise Mechanics members Foundation. All patients II whites with extraction 4 premolars. an Upper anterior incisal edge PP linear measurement 28.7 29.2 mm, +0.53 (p<0.019) posttreatment. average 1 SN angle 103.2 ° 100.1° posttreatment, -3.2° (p<0.000), 111.0° 108.9°, -2.2° three them statistically significant. Conversely, commissure not. four measurements also significant up, upper anteriors kept losing after less surface below commissure. Some loss can be expected while treating extractions premolars, therefore, incisor inclination increase change by itself cannot determine success treatment.

Cephalometric comparison of vertical changes between Begg and preadjusted edgewise appliances.

The purpose of this retrospective study was to quantify and compare the vertical dimensional changes in bialveolar dental protrusion patients undergoing extraction of all four first premolars between the preadjusted edgewise appliance (PEA) and the Begg appliance. The cephalometric records of 55 patients (14 males and 41 females) with Class I bimaxillary protrusion were selected and divided int...

Evaluation of Incisors Inclination in Five Cephalometric Analysis Methods

Various cephalometric analyses may provide conflicting results for the skeletal sagittal relationship and incisors inclination. The aim of this study was to evaluate the various cephalometric analyses by relating the upper and lower incisors to different reference points and lines. One hundred and two pre-treatment lateral cephalometric radiographs were selected and stratified into three groups...

Emergence times of maxillary central incisors and mandibular lateral incisors were less variable than those of maxillary lateral incisors and mandibular central incisors. Maxillary lateral incisors

Understanding of tooth eruption in humans remains incomplete. We hypothesized that genetic factors contribute significantly to phenotypic variation in emergence of primary incisors. Modelfitting was applied to data from Australian twins to quantify contributions of genetic and environmental factors to variation in timing of emergence of human primary incisors. There were no significant differen...

Cephalometric and occlusal changes following maxillary expansion and protraction.

A prospective clinical trial was conducted to determine the cephalometric and occlusal changes following maxillary expansion and protraction. Twenty Southern Chinese patients (eight males and 12 females with a mean age of 8.4 +/- 1.8 years) with skeletal Class III malocclusions were treated consecutively with maxillary expansion and a protraction facemask. Growth adaptation of these patients wa...

Experts' clinical diagnosis test as a gold standard for cephalometric evaluation of vertical facial excess.

OBJECTIVE Cephalometric measures are used to evaluate vertical facial excess (VFE), however anyone of them have been validated against a gold standard to this purpose. Also, there are differences between cephalometric results and clinical evaluation. This study pretends to validate experts' clinical diagnosis test (ECDT) as gold standard for severe VFE, with the purpose of validating further ag...
