چکیده
The transition to low-carbon emitting technologies provokes an increasing demand in energy conversion and storage systems such as fuel cells, batteries, supercapacitors, consequently, the need for their raw materials. use of new chemistries from earth-abundant precursors instead scarce, toxic, nondegradable components existing current must be a priority future years. Cellulose is most abundant biopolymer on earth. Their crystalline constituents designated cellulose nanocrystals (CNC) have been studied functional materials due excellent structural chemical properties. This review covers recent collection works innocuous CNC-based with special attention fabrication methodologies electrodes, electrolytes, membranes, separators. implementation these CNC-derived sustainable also discussed.

Cellulose Nanocrystals (CNCs) from Corn Stalk: Activation Energy Analysis
Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) were isolated from corn stalk using sulfuric acid hydrolysis, and their morphology, chemical structure, and thermal stability properties were characterized. The CNCs had an average length of 120.2 ± 61.3 nm and diameter of 6.4 ± 3.1 nm (L/D = 18.7). The degree of crystallinity of the CNCs increased to 69.20% from the 33.20% crystallinity of raw corn stalk fiber, wh...

In this communication a method for the creation of fluorescent cellulose nanoparticles using click chemistry and subsequent photodimerization of the installed side‐ chains is demonstrated. In the first step, the primary hydroxyl groups on the surface of the CNCs were converted to carboxylic acids by using TEMPO‐mediated hypohalite oxidation. The alkyne groups, essent...
متن کاملCellulose nanocrystals: synthesis, functional properties, and applications
Cellulose nanocrystals are unique nanomaterials derived from the most abundant and almost inexhaustible natural polymer, cellulose. These nanomaterials have received significant interest due to their mechanical, optical, chemical, and rheological properties. Cellulose nanocrystals primarily obtained from naturally occurring cellulose fibers are biodegradable and renewable in nature and hence th...
متن کاملCellulose nanocrystals: chemistry, self-assembly, and applications.
Cellulose constitutes the most abundant renewable polymer resource available today. As a chemical raw material, it is generally well-known that it has been used in the form of fibers or derivatives for nearly 150 years for a wide spectrum of products and materials in daily life. What has not been known until relatively recently is that when cellulose fibers are subjected to acid hydrolysis, the...
متن کاملIndividually Dispersed Wood-Based Cellulose Nanocrystals.
Good dispersion of cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) in the polymer matrix is one of the key factors to obtaining good properties in the resulting nanocomposites. However, the preparation of individually dispersed CNCs in solvents or in polymer matrices has been a challenge. In this study, individually dispersed wood-based CNCs have been successfully prepared in solvents, including dimethylformamid...
