چکیده
A laser pulse focused near the closed end of a glass capillary partially filled with water creates vapor bubble and an associated pressure wave. The wave travels through liquid toward meniscus where it is reflected, creating fast, microjet. In this study, we selectively coat hydrophilic capillaries hydrophobic strips along capillary. result after filling static which has curvature markedly different than unmodified This tilting asymmetry in alters trajectory ensuing jets. also influence advancing contact line receding as expands collapses. We present thirteen permutations system includes three geometries four coating schemes. combination geometry coatings influences jet breakup, resulting drop size distribution, tip, consistency characteristics across trials. inclusion promotes jetting channel axis, most effective arrangement dependent on size.

Visualization of Acoustically Induced Cavitation Bubbles and Microjets with the Aid of High-Speed Camera
Water model experiments in an acrylic resin vessel have been performed to visualize evolution, growth, coalescence, vibration, and clustering of multi-cavitation bubbles in a standing plain wave at the frequency of about 42 kHz by using high-speed camera. Their dynamic behaviors are phenomenologically discussed in relation to the ultrasound field specified. Another experiment has also been carr...

Cavitation, known as the formation of vapor bubbles when liquids are under tension, is of great interest both in condensed matter science as well as in diverse applications such as botany, hydraulic engineering, and medicine. Although widely studied in bulk and microscale-confined liquids, cavitation in the nanoscale is generally believed to be energetically unfavorable and has never been exper...
متن کاملParticle motion induced by bubble cavitation.
Cavitation bubbles induce impulsive forces on surrounding substrates, particles, or surfaces. Even though cavitation is a traditional topic in fluid mechanics, current understanding and studies do not capture the effect of cavitation on suspended objects in fluids. In the present work, the dynamics of a spherical particle due to a cavitation bubble is experimentally characterized and compared w...

GUVs were prepared using the electroformation method, introduced by Angelova and Dimitrov. Stock solutions of 4 mM lipid in chlorophorm were prepared from dioleoyphosphatidylcholine (DOPC), dipalmitoyphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) and cholesterol (Chol), and subsequently mixed to form solutions with 5.33:2.66:2, 2.665.3:3:2 and 4.8:3.2:2 DOPC:DPPC:Chol molar lipid ratios. The fluorescent dye N-(lys...
متن کاملRetraction for RSC Advances: Laser-induced gold/chitosan nanocomposites with tailored wettability applied to multi-irradiated microfluidic channels
The controlled wettability of gold nanocomposite surfaces obtained by laser irradiation is introduced. Starting from the conception of materials with controlled surface properties, we describe all the different steps to generate the gold functionalized nanocomposite material and illustrate its surface wettability. Photopatterned gold polymeric films are performed in order to exhibit a remarkabl...
