چکیده

Sustainable Development Goal 10 (SDG10) proposes the reduction of inequalities. This research highlights importance considering short- and long-term mechanisms for designing applying policies to reduce income inequality. Specifically, we test causal link between technological innovation inequality using a balanced panel data sample from 73 countries worldwide. The inequality–technological relationship is moderated by public spending, manufacturing, employment in agriculture, export diversification. We use quantile regression techniques impact on results offer robust empirical evidence that most quantiles, positive. result suggests dark side it increases Furthermore, find government spending reduces across all while effect agriculture diversification inconclusive. Those responsible social policy towards achievement SDG10 must include advantages disparities promote cohesion within countries.

Technological diversification and innovation performance

This paper analyzes the impact of technological diversity on innovation inputs and success using Swiss firm-level panel data. While we do not find any impact of diversity on R&D intensity, we confirm a positive impact of diversity on patent applications as suggested by the literature. However, since patent applications reflect an intermediate innovation input rather than output, we extend the a...

To explain this pattern, we propose a theory of technological diversification. Production makes use of different input varieties, which are subject to imperfectly correlated shocks. Technological progress takes the form of an incre...
