چکیده
This paper is devoted to the study of electrical conductivity tantalum-doped zirconia ceramics prepared by spark plasma sintering. In this study, temperature dependence in as-prepared specimens and those previously annealed air determined compared. A semi-empirical model, which based on oxidation states cations, has been developed successfully assessed. According this, basically controlled diffusion tetravalent zirconium cations both cases, although concentration these species varies drastically with amount induced oxygen vacancies. a quite unexpected fact, since normally anionic ceramics. option forbidden here due presence substitutional pentavalent cations. Therefore, values are much lower than reported trivalent or divalent cation doped

Microstructural evolution and electrical property of Ta-doped SnO films
Ta-doped tin oxide, SnO , films have been deposited using metalorganic chemical vapor deposition system on sapphire (0001) 2 substrates in temperature range of 400–6008C. When Ta concentration is varied from 0 to 8.30 at.% in the films, the electrical resistivity is changed by three orders of magnitude where the minimum resistivity was observed at 1.35% of Ta. An increase in the carrier concent...
متن کاملSolubility of hydrogen isotopes in zirconia ceramics
The hydrogen solubility in zirconia (yttria stabilized zirconia, YSZ) using a tritium imaging plate (IP) technique has been measured in a temperature region ranging from 673K to 973K. The tritium distribution in the zirconia specimens was nearly uniform suggesting an equilibrated dissolution. The hydrogen solubility in specimens were rather low (around ppm or below) and showed Arrhenius type te...
متن کاملField-enhanced bulk conductivity and resistive-switching in Ca-doped BiFeO3 ceramics.
The bulk conductivity at room temperature of Ca-doped BiFeO3 ceramics is p-type and increases reversibly by up to 3 orders of magnitude under the influence of a small dc bias voltage in the range ∼3 to 20 V mm(-1). The effect occurs in both grain and grain boundary regions, is isotropic and does not involve creation of filamentary conduction pathways. It is proposed that, by means of capacitive...

متن کاملEnhancement of the lithium ion conductivity of Ta-doped Li7La3Zr2O12 by incorporation of calcium.
Fast ion conducting garnet materials have been identified as promising electrolytes for all solid-state batteries. However, reliable synthetic routes to materials with fully elucidated cation site occupancies where an enhancement in lithium conductivity is observed remains a challenge. Ca-Incorporation is developed here as a promising approach to enhance the ionic conductivity of garnet-type Li...
