Cataract in Professionals Exposed to Solar Radiation: A Cross Sectional Study

Purpose: To find out frequency of cataract in seaside workers and possible factors associated to its development. Study Design: Cross sectional observational. Place Duration Study: Tyrrhenian coast Tuscany (Italy), between Rosignano Marittimo Cecina municipalities July 2021. Methods: Ninety-eight were selected through convenience sampling technique. All the working subjects for this study had a bilateral natural vision equal or greater than 6/10 anamnestic data collection, declared they not eye diseases past rarely used protective glasses during their work. Results: The mean age 98 outdoor is 40. Patients with are older people without (median 41 vs 38) (p < 0.001) have lower visual acuity (0.6 0.7) 0.001); stratifying by job, refraction state Intra Ocular Pressure (IOP), there aren’t significant association cataract. multivariate analysis confirms that development (OR 1.99 0.01, respectively). Conclusion: Although senile an related disease but Visually seen persons outdoors longer hours.
