Catalytic Wet Oxidation of Glucose over Oxidized Transition Metal and Alloy Catalysts

The catalytic wet oxidation process was used to study the degradation of carbohydrates in wastewater with glucose as a model compound. transition metals Co and Mo were transformed into their insoluble metal oxide forms, Co3O4 MoO3. A novel catalyst prepared by using CuNiIn alloy, which oxidized at 700 °C generate an mixed oxide. Wet reactions performed 150–210 for 60 min 20 bar O2 pressure. performance powder reached reduction chemical oxygen demand > 80 %. Molybdenum cobalt highly leached reaction media, confirming best terms its acetic acid production.
