Catalytic Pyrolysis of Single‐Use Waste Polyethylene for the Production of Liquid Hydrocarbon Using Modified Bentonite Catalyst

Bentonite has been modified using H2SO4 at various concentrations to alter the Si/Al ratio that is responsible for catalytic pyrolysis of waste polyethylene. The XRF analysis confirmed a gradual decrease Al2O3 content with an increasing concentration H2SO4. highest liquid hydrocarbon yield (87.48 %) was obtained 34.24. To further activate acid-modified bentonite, bimetals (Cu/Ni, Fe/Ni, and Co/Ni) impregnation conducted. performance compared monometals (Ru, Co, Ni, Cu, Fe) impregnated bentonite counterparts. or Cu catalysts (with 86, 83, 86 % respectively) outperformed Fe Ru 68 79 respectively). However, bimetallic Fe/Ni provided less amount (70–80 %). Fe/bentonite Fe/Ni/bentonite increased 2-Octene, 3,7-dimethyl-, (Z) acid-treated Ni/ catalysts. Moreover, also 2,6-dimethyl. BET shows both surface area pore diameter due acid treatment resulting in increase percent raw bentonite.
