Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is a rare bone disorder in which the affected replaced by abnormal scar-like(fibrous) connective tissue. This fibrous tissue makes weak, abnormally fragile and proneto fracture. Pain may occur areas. condition was first described 1942 Lichtenstein andJaffe, also referred as Lichtenstein-Jaffe disease. Anyone can have FD it be diagnosed at any age. FDcan affect one (known monostotic FD), multiple bones polyostotic FD) or entire skeleton(known panostotic FD). The treatment of depends on diagnostic testing, number andlocation bones. In some cases, treated with class drugs calledbisphosphonates, prevent loss reduce pain.
