چکیده
NRXN1 encodes a presynaptic cell adhesion protein, neurexin 1, and plays an important role in the formation of synapses release neurotransmitters.1, 2 Rare copy number variations (CNVs) have been shown to be associated with schizophrenia (SCZ), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), bipolar (BD).1-4 Here, we report first case series four Japanese patients CNVs. These CNVs were identified using array comparative genomic hybridization our previous studies5, 6 (see details Supporting Information). This study was approved by ethics committee Nagoya University. Written informed consent obtained from participants. Figure 1A summarizes clinical data Patient 1 69-year-old female treatment-resistant SCZ (TRS). Her developmental milestones unremarkable. Over time, her cognitive function deteriorated, lost ability live independently, eventually required long-term hospitalization. 69 hallucinations persisted despite treatment doses antipsychotics (olanzapine 10 mg/day, aripiprazole 24 risperidone 12 mg/day). 46-year-old TRS. had family history intellectual disability mother. father died when 13 old placed foster care. Analysis of Copy Number Variations in Patients with Autism Using Cytogenetic and MLPA Techniques: Report of 16p13.1p13.3 and 10q26.3 Duplications
Autism is a common neuropsychiatric disorder affecting 1 in 68 children. Copy number variations (CNVs) are known to be major contributors of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). There are different whole genome or targeted techniques to identify CNVs in the patients including karyotyping, multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA) and array CGH. In this study, we used karyotyping and ML...

Gene copy number variations in Asian patients with congenital bilateral absence of the vas deferens.
BACKGROUND Congenital bilateral absence of the vas deferens (CBAVD) is a distinct clinical entity accounting for approximately 25% of obstructive azoospermia in infertile men. The association between CBAVD and mutated CFTR (cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator) alleles is well demonstrated in Caucasians, but the identity of CBAVD-susceptibility genes remains elusive in Asians. We...
متن کاملEvaluation of HER2, MDM2, MYC, MET and TP53 gene copy number alterations in gastric cancer patients
Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is considered as one of the most common types of cancer worldwide with poor prognosis and generally limited treatment options. Recent studies have indicated that HER2, MDM2, MYC, MET, and TP53 play an important role in the development of gastric cancer. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the incidence of amplification/deletion of these genes in pati...
