Caries Experience and Knowledge About Oral Health Importance Among Children with Congenital Heart Diseases in Kosovo

Objective: To determine the dental health of children with Congenital Heart Diseases (CHD) and to evaluate parents’ knowledge importance oral risk Bacterial Endocarditis. Material Methods: This research included 140 divided into study group (80 CHD) control (60 healthy children). The were from different parts Kosova, aged between 3-15. parents asked complete a questionnaire containing demographic data (age gender), general special medical history (CHD types), about bacterial endocarditis, daily hygiene child. caries experience was reported using DMFT/dmft index. Results: average value dmft index 6.7 for 5.62 group, while DMFT 4.1, 3.47 (p>0.05). About 68.7% CHD informed their during interventions. However, insufficient prophylactic measures once only 32.7% them aware those measures. Conclusion: No difference observed in frequency tooth brushing. Our findings provide evidence lack among children.
