Cardiovascular Responses during and after Maximal Walking in Men and Women with Symptomatic Peripheral Artery Disease

چکیده
Background Walking is recommended for patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). It has been shown that PAD present sharper increases in blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) during maximal walking when compared healthy subjects. Additionally, women a worse physiological profile, it possible they may higher cardiovascular load after bout of than men. Thus, the objective this study was to compare autonomic responses between men intermittent claudication (IC). Methods Forty IC (20 20 women) underwent, random order, 2 sessions: control (standing on treadmill) exercise (maximal treadmill test Gardner's protocol). During exercise, HR BP were measured. Before sessions, variables (BP HR, cardiac output, vascular resistance, stroke volume) modulation (HR variabilities baroreflex sensitivity) assessed. In addition, an ambulatory monitoring recorded each session. Results Men presented similar capacity. test, systolic increased similarly women. After walking, did not differ genders. postintervention parameters also Therefore, women, reduced clinic volume, total power variability recovery period. Conclusions walking.

Predictors of Improved Walking after a Supervised Walking Exercise Program in Men and Women with Peripheral Artery Disease
We compared the changes in ambulatory outcomes between men and women with symptomatic peripheral arterial disease (PAD) following completion of a supervised, on-site, treadmill exercise program, and we determined whether exercise training variables and baseline clinical characteristics were predictive of changes in ambulatory outcomes in men and women. Twenty-three men and 25 women completed th...

OBJECTIVE To determine whether diabetes and sex were factors associated with ambulatory function, endothelial cell inflammation, oxidative stress, and apoptosis, and with circulating biomarkers of inflammation and antioxidant capacity in patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD) and claudication. MATERIALS/METHODS Ambulatory function of 180 symptomatic men and women with PAD was assessed ...
متن کاملComparison of Plantar Force, Pressure and Impulse During Walking in Men and Women With Flat Feet
Objective: This study aims to compare the variables of plantar force, pressure and impulse during walking in men and women with flat feet. Methods: The study population consists of non-athlete students with and without flat feet. Of these, 48 (male and female) were selected as study samples. The peak pressure, force and impulse on the foot were measured during walking by a foot scanner at a sa...

15 صفحه اولIs there any relationship between cardiovascular disease and androgenetic alopecia in men and women?
Background: Worldwide, coronary heart disease is the most important cause of mortality and morbidity. Although numerous studies have documented the relationship between male pattern baldness and cardiovascular disease (CVD), few studies focused on this association in women. This study intended to evaluate the relationship between coronary artery disease and androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in ...
