CARBON SEQUESTRATION IN SOIL AGGREGATES UNDER DIFFERENT CROPPING PATTERNS IN GANGES RIVER FLOODPLAIN, BANGLADESH

نویسندگان

چکیده

The Five different cropping patterns such as Fallow-Fallow-Fallow (F-F-F), Sugarcane-Sugarcane-T Aman (S-S-R), Vegetables-Fallow-T (V-F-R), Fallow-Fallow-T (F-F-R) and Fallow-Mung bean- T (F-M-R) from Jessore district were investigated for carbon sequestration in soil aggreagates. Highest value of bulk density (1.53 g cm-3) was found S-S-R lowest (1.27 F-M-R. under V-F-R exhibited highest porosity (47.76%). F-M-R saturated hydraulic conductivity (15.36 cm day‑1). state aggregation degree high F-F-R. dispersion factor F-F-F (13.32%) F-F-R (7.04%). organic (SOC) associated with >0.05 mm aggregates generally higher than that 0.05-0.002 <0.002 aggregates. clay (<0.002 mm) SOC aggregate particles patterns, respectively.

Carbon sequestration in sugarcane plant and soil with different cultivation systems

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is a multi-purpose crop, mainly planted in South-western (SW) parts of Iran. However, the capability of sugarcane farms to sequestrate carbon into soil and plant is not well documented. In this research, the carbon sequestration in sugarcane plant and soil in a ratooning traditional cultivation system at the Amirkabir Sugarcane Agro-Industry Complex...

Remotely Sensed Soil Moisture Effects on Carbon Sequestration Spatial Patterns

Carbon emission and fixation fluxes are key variables to guide climate change stakeholders on the use of remediation techniques. To develop Kyoto Protocol support tools, a sound application perspective is offered by expert systems based on earth observation (EO). This allows estimates of vegetation carbon fixation using a minimum of meteorological data. The core module of this type of expert sy...
