CAPACITY BUILDING ACTIVITIES AND POVERTY REDUCTION AMONG SMALL SCALE FARMERS; A CASE OF ONE ACRE FUND IN LURAMBI SUB-COUNTY, KAKAMEGA COUNTY; KENYA

Over the years, farmers in Kenya have continued to suffer from poor harvest due problems like unpredictable weather conditions and storage facilities which lead great loses of what is harvested. Moreover, unfavorable competition at market for sale produce occasioned by importation similar products that are cheaper than has led untold suffering latter. Consequently, western Kenya, whose main source income farming, remain even as government revamps money into this agricultural sector revive it. Studies reveal a gap exists between activities reduction poverty. The objective study was investigate effect Capacity Building Activities on Poverty Reduction among small scale One Acre Fund Lurambi Sub County, Kakamega County; Kenya. adopted descriptive research design. target population consisted reliable registered Fund. used structured questionnaire collection primary data farmers. Pilot done Municipality; hence enabled testing reliability validity instrument. inferential statistics analyzed use SPSS software version 24, further; regression equation model developed test relationships variables. results findings indicated capacity building had significant influence poverty reduction. recommended embrace since it improves further studies same considering variables but different methodologies.
