چکیده
Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) is among the agricultural products with highest added value in Turkey. Although frequently associated its negative effects on human health, it also provides important contributions to Turkish economy employment creates rural areas and continues be a strategic product. Many postgraduate theses studies related sociological economic importance of production this plant, which great for our country, have been carried out. However, there are very limited plant diseases tobacco Phytoplasma one pathogens that cause yield loss tobacco. Since available data phytoplasma was scarce worldwide, field surveys collect samples showing infection-like symptoms such as yellowish color changes, leaf blisters, proliferation, dwarfism, other physical abnormalities were out Çanakkale Balıkesir provinces Turkey from June August 2021. The presence phytoplasmas six confirmed by 16S ribosomal DNA amplification nested-PCR using universal primer sets, suggested pathogen According phylogenetic study virtual-RFLP analysis AluI MseI endonuclease enzymes, strains all belong group 16SrXII more than 99% nucleotide sequence identity some members ‘Candidatus solani’ taxonomic subgroup ‘stolbur’ (16SrXII-A). Genetic distances indicated 16SrI closely 16SrVI, agreement groups clustering tree. Neutrality tests found experiencing expanding or bottleneck selections, probably due new mutations rRNA gene fragment. Meanwhile, 16SrVI populations shown undergoing balancing indicating isolates evolved long time.

‘Candidatus Phytoplasma cynodontis’ associated with white leaf disease of golden beard grass (Chrysopogon acicalatus)
A phytoplasma was detected in golden beard grass (Chrysopogon acicalatus) displaying white leaf symptoms near vegetative fields at the Tatkone region in Myanmar, 2011. Based on restriction fragment length polymorphism analysis of PCR-amplified 16S rRNA genes, including the 16S-23S spacer region and part of the 23S rRNA gene, the phytoplasma was identified as a member of the Bermuda grass white ...
متن کامل'Candidatus Phytoplasma brasiliense', a new phytoplasma taxon associated with hibiscus witches' broom disease.
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is a valuable ornamental species widely planted in Brazil. Many plants are affected by witches' broom disease, which is characterized by excessive axillary branching, abnormally small leaves, and deformed flowers, symptoms that are characteristic of diseases attributed to phytoplasmas. A phytoplasma was detected in diseased Hibiscus by amplification of rRNA operon sequenc...
متن کامل'Candidatus Phytoplasma castaneae', a novel phytoplasma taxon associated with chestnut witches' broom disease.
In Korea, Japanese chestnut trees (Castanea crenata Sieb. and Zucc.) showing symptoms indicative of witches' broom disease, including abnormally small leaves and yellowing of young leaves, were examined. Since the symptoms were suggestive of a phytoplasma infection, tissues were assayed for phytoplasmas by PCR analysis using a pair of universal primers that amplify a 1.4-kbp phytoplasma 16S rDN...

A phytoplasma was detected in naturally diseased 'Chardonnay' grapevines exhibiting symptoms of Australian grapevine yellows disease. The use of PCR designed to amplify phytoplasma DNA resulted in detection of phytoplasma DNA in all of the diseased plants examined; no phytoplasma DNA was detected in healthy seedling grapevines. The collective restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) patt...
متن کاملThe jasmonate-induced expression of the Nicotiana tabacum leaf lectin.
Previous experiments with tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L. cv Samsun NN) plants revealed that jasmonic acid methyl ester (JAME) induces the expression of a cytoplasmic/nuclear lectin in leaf cells and provided the first evidence that jasmonates affect the expression of carbohydrate-binding proteins in plant cells. To corroborate the induced accumulation of relatively large amounts of a cytoplasmic...
