Candidate RNA biomarkers in biofluids for early diagnosis of ovarian cancer: A systematic review

چکیده

Ovarian cancer is often diagnosed in an advanced stage and associated with a high mortality rate. It assumed that early detection of ovarian could improve patient outcomes. Unfortunately, effective screening methods for diagnosis are still lacking. Extracellular RNAs circulating human biofluids can reliably be measured emerging as potential biomarkers cancer. In this systematic review, we present 75 RNA detectable have been studied The majority these markers microRNAs identified using RT-qPCR or microarrays blood-based fluids. A handful studies used RNA-sequencing explored alternative fluids, such urine ascites. Candidate were more abundant patients compared to controls at least two independent include miR-21, the miR-200 family, miR-205, miR-10a miR-346. Amongst confirmed lower miR-122, miR-193a, miR-223, miR-126 miR-106b. While show promising diagnostic potential, further validation required before implementation routine clinical care. Challenges related biomarker reflections on future perspectives accelerate progress field discussed.

A review of biomarkers in the diagnosis of bladder cancer

Bladder cancer is among the ten most common cancers and the ten main causes of cancer-related deaths in the world. Currently, bladder tumors are diagnosed and followed up using a combination of cystoscopy and cytology. In addition, bladder cancer often recurs and can progress if not closely monitored after initial treatment. Constant monitoring of the patient with cystoscopy, which is an invasi...

Validation of Candidate Serum Ovarian Cancer Biomarkers for Early Detection

OBJECTIVE We have previously analyzed protein profiles using Surface Enhanced Laser Desorption and Ionization Time-Of-Flight Mass Spectroscopy (SELDI-TOF-MS) [Kozak et al. 2003, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 100:12343-8] and identified 3 differentially expressed serum proteins for the diagnosis of ovarian cancer (OC) [Kozak et al. 2005, Proteomics, 5:4589-96], namely, apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I...

Paraneoplastic antigens as biomarkers for early diagnosis of ovarian cancer

Paraneoplastic syndromes are a group of rare disorders that can be triggered by an abnormal immune response to proteins from tumors of the lung, ovary, lymphatics, or breast. Paraneoplastic clinical syndromes affect < 1% of patients with cancer; however, the frequency of subclinical levels of paraneoplastic autoantibodies in asymptomatic patients with cancer is unknown. Numerous studies have re...

Review: Proteomics and Biomarkers for Ovarian Cancer Diagnosis

Ovarian cancer remains a leading cause of death from gynecological malignancy. Early diagnosis is the most important determinant of survival. Current diagnostic tools have had very limited success in early detection. In recent years, the advancing techniques for proteomics have accelerated the discovery of ovarian cancer biomarkers. Numerous proteomics-based molecular biomarkers/panels have bee...

A review on miRNAs as new biomarkers for colorectal cancer

Background & Objective: Since colorectal cancer does not often have phenotypic symptoms in the early stages, the study of biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of the tumor is very important. MicroRNAs are one of the most important biomarkers which attract the attention of many researchers due to a variety of reasons, including their non-invasive nature; these molecules are a group of non-...
