چکیده
Introduction/Objective. Dysfunctional Voiding and Incontinence Scoring System (DVISS) was created to help diagnose functional voiding disorders in children based on their clinical symptoms. However, its role prognosticating treatment outcome dysfunctional (DV) not explored. The aim analyze the pre-treatment DVISS score's ability predict outcomes a pediatric population with DV study's main objective. Methods. A total of 86 patients were divided into two groups at random. In addition standard urotherapy, group also received pelvic floor diaphragmatic breathing exercises, while B only urotherapy. Initial final scores for 12-month period recorded. Both before after treatment, uroflowmetry electromyography performed together residual urine volumes measurement. (non-, partial full response) defined according objective improvement daytime nighttime wetting, constipation, urinary infections findings. cut-off values, sensitivity, specificity score predicting non/partial response determined using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results. Pre-treatment could both (the area under ROC < 0.50) nor non-/ (p = 0.127). group, sensitivity initial (cut-off value 9.5) prediction non-/partial 73.1% 33.3%, respectively 0.043). Conclusion. cannot be used result DV.

Dysfunctional voiding in adults.
Dysfunctional voiding is characterized by an intermittent and/or fluctuating flow rate due to involuntary intermittent contractions of the periurethral striated or levator muscles during voiding in neurologically normal women (International Continence Society definition). Due to the variable etiology, the diagnosis and treatment of DV is problematic. Frequently, the diagnosis is done at a late ...

Incomplete bladder emptying or dysfunctional voiding is a common lower urinary tract dysfunction encountered in children. Alpha blocker therapy is used to facilitate bladder emptying in the adult population and has likewise been applied to the pediatric population. Alpha blocker therapy seems well tolerated in children and appears efficacious towards improving bladder emptying in a variety of p...
