Can personality traits be measured analyzing written language? A meta-analytic study on computational methods

In the last two decades, empirical evidence has shown that personality traits could be related to characteristics of written language. This study describes a meta-analysis synthesizes 23 independent estimates correlations between Big Five major traits, and some computationally obtained indicators from The results show significant combined correlations, albeit small moderate according Cohen's conventions interpret effect sizes, for five (between r = 0.26 agreeableness neuroticism, 0.30 openness). These are moderated by type information in texts, use prediction mechanisms, source publication primary studies. Generally, same effective moderators operate traits.
