Can fermion-boson stars reconcile multimessenger observations of compact stars?

چکیده

Mixed fermion-boson stars are stable, horizonless, everywhere regular solutions of the coupled Einstein-(complex, massive) Klein-Gordon-Euler system. While isolated neutron and boson uniquely determined by their central energy density, mixed configurations conform an extended parameter space that depends on combination number fermions (ultra-light) bosons. The wider possibilities offered could help explain tension in measurements star masses radii reported recent multi-messenger observations nuclear-physics experiments. In this work we construct equilibrium with realistic equations state for fermionic component different percentages bosonic matter. We show our excellent agreement data, including gravitational-wave events GW170817 GW190814 X-ray pulsars PSR J0030+0451 J0740+6620, as well nuclear physics constraints from PREX-2 experiment.

Exact Solutions for Boson-Fermion Stars in (2+1) dimensions

We solve Einstein equations coupled to a complex scalar field with infinitely large self-interaction, degenerate fermions, and a negative cosmological constant in (2 + 1) dimensions. Exact solutions for static boson-fermion stars are found when circular symmetry is assumed. We find that the minimum binding energy of boson-fermion star takes a negative value if the value of the cosmological cons...

Dynamical boson stars

The idea of stable, localized bundles of energy has strong appeal as a model for particles. In the 1950s, John Wheeler envisioned such bundles as smooth configurations of electromagnetic energy that he called geons, but none were found. Instead, particle-like solutions were found in the late 1960s with the addition of a scalar field, and these were given the name boson stars. Since then, boson ...

Constraining Alternate Models of Black Holes: Type I X-ray Bursts on Accreting Fermion-Fermion and Boson-Fermion Stars

The existence of black holes remains open to doubt until other conceivable options are excluded. With this motivation, we consider a model of a compact star in which most of the mass consists of dark particles of some kind, and a small fraction of the mass is in the form of ordinary nucleonic gas. The gas does not interact with the dark matter other than via gravity, but collects at the center ...

Spontaneous Scalarization and Boson Stars

We study spontaneous scalarization in Scalar-Tensor boson stars. We find that scalarization does not occur in stars whose bosons have no self-interaction. We introduce a quartic self-interaction term into the boson Lagrangian and show that when this term is large, scalarization does occur. Strong self-interaction leads to a large value of the compactness (or sensitivity) of the boson star, a ne...

Effective Dynamics for Boson Stars

We study solutions close to solitary waves of the pseudo-relativistic Hartree equation describing boson stars under the influence of an external gravitational field. In particular, we analyze the long-time effective dynamics of such solutions. In essence, we establish a (long-time) stability result for solutions describing boson stars that move under the influence of an external gravitational f...
