Caloric Vestibular Stimulation Alleviates the Motor Dysfunctions in a Mouse Model of Parkinson’s Disease

Background: Parkinson’s disease (PD) is one of the most common degenerative disorders ageing brain. Currently, there no cure for PD and available treatments only aim to reverse dopamine deficiency relieve its symptoms. Caloric vestibular stimulation (CVS) believed help in relieving motor symptoms PD. Hence, present study planned evaluate effect CVS on behavioral changes Mice. Methods: Twenty-four healthy male Swiss albino mice divided into four groups (n=6) were used study. was induced by giving an intraperitoneal injection MPTP 5 consecutive days. Bilateral given with hot water (temperature 40°C) 15 Changes behaviour (locomotor activity, grip strength, coordination, immobilization time) measured day 1 results statistically analysed. Results: The group showed a significant decrease locomotor muscular strength (fall time), time when compared control group, whereas prevented group. Conclusion: effective alleviating alterations Parkinson-induced mice.
