چکیده
Abstract Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) is a that already caused great losses in citrus producing regions. The cell wall of plant cells plays an important role the defence response to viruses. Following several studies indicating enzyme transcripts callose synthase 7 ( c alS7 ) and xyloglucan endotransglucosylase 9 xth9 are modified during viral infection, transcript expression calS7 isoform x5 x 5 was evaluated over time × sinensis ‘Valencia Late’ (VL) clementina ‘Fina’ (CL), infected with severe CTV isolate T318A, by quantitative (q) PCR. qPCR analysis healthy performed at 15 days, 10 months 31 post-inoculation (dpi/mpi), respectively. titer, three time-points qPCR, increased bark tissues, VL plants exhibiting titer about times higher than CL mpi. infection did not cause significant changes gene both cultivars. However, associated up-regulation compared controls This study highlights can affect specific wall-associated genes this influence distinct for CL. provides further insight into CTV-citrus host interaction, long-term involving high gene.

Citrus tristeza virus-host interactions
Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) is a phloem-limited virus whose natural host range is restricted to citrus and related species. Although the virus has killed millions of trees, almost destroying whole industries, and continually limits production in many citrus growing areas, most isolates are mild or symptomless in most of their host range. There is little understanding of how the virus causes sev...
متن کاملThe Complex Genetics of Citrus tristeza virus
The 2000 x 11 nm long bipolar flexuous filamentous particles of Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) (genus Closterovirus, family Closteroviridae) (Figure 1) contain a single-stranded positive-sense RNA genome of 19.3 kb, which is encapsidated in two different capsid proteins that coat the opposite ends of the virions [1, 2]. CTV is the largest identified RNA virus infecting plants and the second larges...
متن کاملEpidemiology of Citrus tristeza virus in nursery blocks of Citrus macrophylla and evaluation of control measures
The control of Citrus tristeza virus (CTV), the causal agent of tristeza disease, is essential to guarantee a productive citrus industry. The specific features of a nursery block make the control of the natural spread of viruses transmitted by vectors more difficult. Thus, the knowledge of the epidemiology of CTV in nursery blocks is basic to the design control strategies of the disease. Two ex...
متن کاملPast and future of a century old Citrus tristeza virus collection: a California citrus germplasm tale
Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) isolates collected from citrus germplasm, dooryard and field trees in California from 1914 have been maintained in planta under quarantine in the Citrus Clonal Protection Program (CCPP), Riverside, California. This collection, therefore, represents populations of CTV isolates obtained over time and space in California. To determine CTV genetic diversity in this conte...
متن کاملAlternative oxidase (AOX) constitutes a small family of proteins in Citrus clementina and Citrus sinensis L. Osb
The alternative oxidase (AOX) protein is present in plants, fungi, protozoa and some invertebrates. It is involved in the mitochondrial respiratory chain, providing an alternative route for the transport of electrons, leading to the reduction of oxygen to form water. The present study aimed to characterize the family of AOX genes in mandarin (Citrus clementina) and sweet orange (Citrus sinensis...
