Calibration of Manganin pressure gauge for diamond-anvil cells

چکیده
Pressure calibration for most diamond-anvil cell (DAC) experiments is mainly based on the ruby scale, which key to implementing this powerful tool high-pressure study. However, scale can often hardly be used programmably controlled DAC devices, especially piezoelectric-driving cells, where a continuous pressure required. In work, we present an effective gauge DACs made of Manganin metal four-probe resistivity measurements. dependence its well established and shows excellent linear relations in 0–30 GPa range with slope 23.4 (9) first-cycle compression, contrast that multiple-cycle compression decompression having nearly identical 33.7 (4) likely due strain effect. addition, such-established continuously monitoring DACs, reliability method also verified by fixed-point Bi standard. Realization would offer many opportunities study dynamics, kinetics, critical behaviors pressure-induced phase transitions.

متن کاملPressure Self-focusing Effect and Novel Methods for Increasing the Maximum Pressure in Traditional and Rotational Diamond Anvil Cells
The main principles of producing a region near the center of a sample, compressed in a diamond anvil cell (DAC), with a very high pressure gradient and, consequently, with high pressure are predicted theoretically. The revealed phenomenon of generating extremely high pressure gradient is called the pressure self-focusing effect. Initial analytical predictions utilized generalization of a simpli...

We describe an in situ high pressure-temperature Raman technique for studying materials in laser-heated diamond anvil cells using a Nd:YLF laser s1053 nmd as the heating source and an ion laser as the Raman exciting source. Here we introduce the method of laser heating transparent samples using a metallic foil (Pt,Re, or W) as the laser absorber (internal heating furnace) in a diamond cell. The...

We have built a micro-optical spectroscopy system coupled with a Nd:YLF laser heating system for performing high pressure–temperature in situ Raman measurements in diamond anvil cells (DAC). A variety of materials can be investigated, providing information about structural and dynamical properties of condensed matter under extreme conditions. We report on a method for laser heating transparent ...

The fourteen kinds of pressure-transmitting media were evaluated by the ruby fluorescence method at room temperature, 77 K using the diamond anvil cell (DAC) up to 10 GPa in order to find appropriate media for use in low temperature physics. The investigated media are a 1:1 mixture by volume of Fluorinert FC-70 and FC-77, Daphne 7373 and 7474, NaCl, silicon oil (polydimethylsiloxane), Vaseline,...
