چکیده

Abstract Background Electrolyzed water, a green chemistry invention, is novel disinfectant that has been widely used in the food field. Previous studies have found slightly acidic electrolyzed water not only bactericidal effect but also promotes accumulation of active substances many types sprouts. We developed new type CaCl 2 –HCl (CHEW), which can effectively enhance formation glucosinolates and isothiocyanates broccoli The molecular mechanism by glucosinolate metabolism sprouts during growth was investigated this study. Results On 4th day, total content reached 195.50 μmol/g DW under CHEW treatment. 8th compared to treatment with tap contents three (sulforaphane, erucin, 4-isothiocyanato-1-butene) were significantly increased 45.93, 34.04 185.15%, respectively. results calcium distribution qRT‒PCR assessments indicated activated signalling promoted relative expression biosynthesis-related genes through sensors [calmodulin (CaM), calmodulin-like protein (CML), calcium-dependent kinase (CDPK)] calcium-binding nuclear IQD1. Conclusion Our research provides insights into theoretical basis for cultivating high-quality Graphical

RNA-Seq Analysis of Transcriptome and Glucosinolate Metabolism in Seeds and Sprouts of Broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italic)

BACKGROUND Broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica), a member of Cruciferae, is an important vegetable containing high concentration of various nutritive and functional molecules especially the anticarcinogenic glucosinolates. The sprouts of broccoli contain 10-100 times higher level of glucoraphanin, the main contributor of the anticarcinogenesis, than the edible florets. Despite the broccoli...

UVA, UVB Light Doses and Harvesting Time Differentially Tailor Glucosinolate and Phenolic Profiles in Broccoli Sprouts.

Broccoli sprouts contain health-promoting glucosinolate and phenolic compounds that can be enhanced by applying ultraviolet light (UV). Here, the effect of UVA or UVB radiation on glucosinolate and phenolic profiles was assessed in broccoli sprouts. Sprouts were exposed for 120 min to low intensity and high intensity UVA (UVAL, UVAH) or UVB (UVBL, UVBH) with UV intensity values of 3.16, 4.05, 2...

Chemoprotective glucosinolates and isothiocyanates of broccoli sprouts: metabolism and excretion in humans.

Broccoli sprouts are a rich source of glucosinolates and isothiocyanates that induce phase 2 detoxication enzymes, boost antioxidant status, and protect animals against chemically induced cancer. Glucosinolates are hydrolyzed by myrosinase (an enzyme found in plants and bowel microflora) to form isothiocyanates. In vivo, isothiocyanates are conjugated with glutathione and then sequentially meta...

Comparative Transcriptome Analyses Reveal a Special Glucosinolate Metabolism Mechanism in Brassica alboglabra Sprouts

Brassica sprouts contain abundant phytochemicals, especially glucosinolates (GSs). Various methods have been used to enhance GS content in sprouts. However, the molecular basis of GS metabolism in sprouts remains an open question. Here we employed RNA-seq analysis to compare the transcriptomes of high-GS (JL-08) and low-GS (JL-09) Brassica alboglabra sprouts. Paired-end Illumina RNA-seq reads w...
