C-REACTIVE PROTEIN RESPONSE IN ANGINA PECTORIS
C-reactive protein (CRP) response was studied in 44 patients with acute angina pectoris admitted to the coronary care unit. 71 % of patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI)had positive CRP test while 73% of patients presumed to have unstable angina pectoris had negative CRP test. This test can be helpful in differentiating between acute MI and unstable angina pectoris.
متن کاملPositive Maternal C-Reactive Protein Predicts Neonatal Sepsis
PURPOSE To evaluate the diagnostic performance of maternal inflammatory marker: C-reactive protein (CRP) in predicting early onset neonatal sepsis (that occurring within 72 hours after birth). MATERIALS AND METHODS 126 low birth weight newborns (gestation 32±3.2 wk, birth weight 1887±623 g) and their mothers were included. Neonates were divided into sepsis group (n=51) including both proven (...
متن کاملC-reactive protein predicts hematoma growth in intracerebral hemorrhage.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Early hematoma growth (EHG) occurs in about one third of patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage. The main aim of this study was to investigate the potential of plasma C-reactive protein (CRP) for predicting EHG after acute spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage. METHODS Plasma CRP was measured within 6 hours of onset (median, 120 minutes) in 399 patients with ...
متن کاملEthnicity and sex modify the association of serum c-reactive protein with microalbuminuria.
OBJECTIVES To study the association between serum C-reactive protein (CRP) and urinary albumin excretion in the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis and to assess whether the association is modified by ethnicity, sex, or systolic blood pressure. METHODS This was a cross-sectional study of 6675 participants who were free from macroalbuminuria and clinical cardiovascular disease (mean age 62.1...
متن کاملRole of microalbuminuria and C - reactive protein as a marker of coronary artery disease
The aim of present study was to quantify Serum CRP and microalbuminuria in patients of acute chest pain and to find out correlation between CRP and microalbuminuria with chest pain. A hospital based cross sectional study was conducted on patients admitted in Emergency wards of Medicine Department of SGRRIMHS and Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, Dehradun (Uttarakhand). A total of 100 participants ...
