C∗-algebras Arising from Substitutions

In this paper, we introduce a C∗-algebra associated with a proper primitive substitution. We show that the C∗-algebra is simple and purely infinite and contains the associated CuntzKrieger algebra and the crossed product C∗-algebra of the corresponding Cantor minimal system. And we calculate the K-groups.

C∗-algebras Arising from Dyck Systems of Topological Markov Chains

Let A be an N ×N irreducible matrix with entries in {0, 1}. We define the topological Markov Dyck shift DA to be a nonsofic subshift consisting of the 2N brackets (1, . . . , (N , )1, . . . , )N with both standard bracket rule and Markov chain rule coming from A. The subshift is regarded as a subshift defined by the canonical generators S∗ 1 , . . . , S ∗ N , S1, . . . , SN of the Cuntz-Krieger...

Report on Stability and C -algebras arising from Graphs

Section 2.1 below contains a brief introduction to the theory of C -algebras associated to graphs. Some examples are presented. Section 3 contains a discussion on stability of C -algebras. We make a digression to show that for any C -dynamical system (G; ;A) with G second countable, A separable and stable, the crossed product C -algebra A o G is stable. This generalizes [12, Corollary 4.5]. Sub...

Purely Infinite Simple C-algebras Arising from Free Product Constructions

Examples of simple, separable, unital, purely infinite C–algebras are constructed, including: (1) some that are not approximately divisible; (2) those that arise as crossed products of any of a certain class of C∗–algebras by any of a certain class of non–unital endomorphisms; (3) those that arise as reduced free products of pairs of C–algebras with respect to any from a certain class of states...

Continuous Fields of C*-Algebras Arising from Extensions of Tensor C*-Categories

The notion of extension of a given C*-category C by a C*-algebra A is introduced. In the commutative case A = C(Ω), the objects of the extension category are interpreted as fiber bundles over Ω of objects belonging to the initial category. It is shown that the Doplicher-Roberts algebra (DR-algebra in the following) associated to an object in the extension of a strict tensor C*-category is a con...
