چکیده
Pulmonary embolism (PE) is one of the most serious complications in cancer patients. There are different treatment modalities for PE patients with very limited data available on outcomes among Patients. This analysis included from National Inpatient Sample between January 2016 and December 2020. We reported baseline characteristics hospital hospitalized modalities. identified 362,749 acute during 2016-2020. Median age was systemic thrombolysis (ST) 70.3%, mechanical thrombectomy (MT) 20.5% Catheter Directed Thrombolysis (CDT) 6.46% surgical Embolectomy (SE) 2.7% (66 vs 68 66 60, p <.0001). Overall, SE associated higher mortality (24% 14.17% 6.67% 20.37%, <.0001), GI bleeding (8% 3.66% 2.50% 3.44%, <.0001 ), major (16% 14.92% 14.61%,p <.0001) utilization ECMO (14% 1.05% 0% 0.31%, compared to (MT,CDT,ST). However ST had highest risk intracranial hemorrhage (2.45% 0.83% 1.83% 0%, p<.0001) (CDT,MT,SE). Patients undergoing longest length median stay (13 days 6 days) inflation-adjusted mean cost ($69,653.93 $33,077.67) other groups. commonly utilized has hemorrhage. least used modality but it rate bleeding.

Incidental Pulmonary Embolism in Cancer Patients: A Single-Institution Analysis in Panama
Introduction: Incidental pulmonary embolisms (iPE) are common in cancer patients. Studies addressing iPE in oncology are increasing; however, few of these investigations have been conducted in a Latin-American population. This study aims to describe the incidence and characteristics of iPE in cancer patients in a comprehensive cancer center from Panama. Methods: A single-center, retrospective stud...
متن کاملIncidence of acute pulmonary embolism, related comorbidities and survival; analysis of a Swedish national cohort
BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to determine the incidence of acute pulmonary embolism (PE) in Sweden and any regional differences. To assess short- and long-term survival analysis after an episode of PE, before and after excluding patients with known malignancies, and to determine the most common comorbidities prior to the PE event. METHODS All in-hospital patients, including children, d...
متن کاملThe incidence of acute pulmonary embolism following syncope in anticoagulant-naïve patients: A retrospective cohort study
BACKGROUND A recently published, large prospective study showed unexpectedly high prevalence of acute pulmonary embolism (APE) among patients hospitalized for syncope. In such a case, a high incidence of recurrent pulmonary embolism is expected among patients who were discharged without APE workup. OBJECTIVES To determine the incidence of symptomatic APE among patients hospitalized for a firs...
متن کاملThe prognostic value of pulmonary embolism severity index in acute pulmonary embolism: a meta-analysis
BACKGROUND Prognostic assessment is important for the management of patients with acute pulmonary embolism (APE). Pulmonary Embolism Severity Index (PESI) and simple PESI (sPESI) are new emerged prognostic assessment tools for APE. The aim of this meta-analysis is to assess the accuracy of the PESI and the sPESI to predict prognostic outcomes (all-cause and PE-related mortality, serious adverse...
متن کاملA population-based cohort study on deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism among schizophrenia patients.
OBJECTIVE Several risk factors of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and pulmonary embolism (PE) were found in patients with schizophrenia. Therefore, we hypothesize that the incidences of VTE and PE are relatively higher among schizophrenia patients in comparison with the general population. METHOD For this population-based cohort study, claims data from 1996 to 2011 were obtained from the Nationa...
