Buckling-driven mechanisms for twisting control in adaptive composite wings

چکیده

This study aims to design novel tailorable and effective mechanisms by controlling buckling behaviour in structural elements of a composite wing for future morphing application. Instead the traditional against buckling, idea is embrace this built-in instability using nonlinear post-buckling response control stiffness changes which redistribute load structure. To enable desired multi-stable configurations, three buckling-driven are investigated restraining out-of-plane deformation point, area maximum displacement constraints. Numerical studies proposed at first conducted on plate later integrated twisting simplified thin-walled box. The offer opportunities configurations demonstrate potential realise wings employing controlled behaviours components.

Static Shape Control for Adaptive Wings

A theoretical method was developed, and experimentally validated, to control the static shape of flexible structures by employing internal translational actuators. A finite element model of the structure, without the actuators present, is employed to obtain the multiple-input, multiple-output control-system gain matrices for actuator-load control as well as actuator-displacement control. The me...

Online data-driven composite adaptive backstepping control with exact differentiators

This paper presents an online data-driven composite adaptive backstepping control for a class of parametric strict-feedback nonlinear systems with mismatched uncertainties, where both tracking errors and prediction errors are utilized to update parametric estimates. Hybrid exact differentiators are applied to obtain the derivatives of virtual control inputs such that the complexity problem of i...

Composite Adaptive Fuzzy Control

Adaptive fuzzy control has been a topic of active research over the last decade. However, most efforts have been directed toward one goal: achieving asymptotic stability and tracking. Little attention has been paid to the accuracy of the identified fuzzy models and to their transparency and interpretability whereas these should be the key aspects motivating the use of fuzzy models in adaptive c...

Aeroelastic Analysis of Composite Wings

An aeroelastic stability analysis is presented for high-aspect ratio composite wings. The structural model is based on an asymptotically correct crosssectional formulation and a nonlinear geometric exact beam analysis, both derivable from 3-D elasticity. A new 2-D unsteady inflow finite-state theory is considered for the aerodynamic part of the solution. Theodorsen theory is also implemented an...

Adaptive continuous twisting algorithm

In this paper an Adaptive Continuous Twisting Algorithm (ACTA) is presented. For double integrator, ACTA produces a continuous control signal ensuring finite time convergence of the states to zero. Moreover, the control signal generated by ACTA, compensates the Lipschitz perturbation in finite time, i.e. its value converges to the opposite value of the perturbation. ACTA also keeps its converge...
