Brucella is an intracellular parasitic bacterium that uses multiple strategies to evade the host’s defense mechanisms. However, how manipulates host-induced oxidative stress and relevant biological processes are still poorly understood. In this study, a comparative transcriptome assay of macrophages infected with abortus S2308 its rough mutant RB14 was performed investigate differentially expressed genes which might be associated pathogenic mechanism Brucella. Our results showed numerous host pro-oxidative antioxidative were in B. at 4, 8, 24, 48 h post-infection. Interestingly, we found several ferroptosis-associated during infection.
