Passive Materials for High Frequency Ultrasound Transducers
In this paper, the elastic properties of passive materials (matching, backing and lens materials) for ultrasound transducers are explored at room temperature in the frequency range of 25-65MHz using the ultrasonic spectroscopy method. AlurninaJEPOTEK 301 and tungsten/EPO-TEK 301 composites were fabricated and measured. Experimental results display a monotonic rise in acoustic impedance of the c...
متن کاملDiffuse reflection broad bandwidth sum frequency generation from particle surfaces.
We report the first vibrational sum frequency generation (VSFG) spectroscopic study from particle surfaces of powdered solids using a modified SFG approach, diffuse reflection broad bandwidth sum frequency generation (DR-BBSFG). The DR-BBSFG spectrum of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS, C(12)H(25)SO(4)Na) powdered solids was obtained. Five peaks were resolved by calculated fits. Possible origins of ...
متن کاملFREQUENCY response of underwater ultrasonic transducers in the near field using polarimetric polarization maintaining fiber sensors
Near-field ultrasonic response (50-2000 kHz) of an underwater 1-3 piezocomposite transducer is experimentally investigated using a polarimetric polarization maintaining fiber sensor. Measured outputs from our sensor and a reference hydrophone are observed to be comparable.
متن کاملReconsidering the placebo response from a broad anthropological perspective.
This paper considers how the full range of human experience may catalyze a placebo response. The placebo effect has been characterized as something to control in clinical research, something to cultivate in clinical practice and something present in all healing encounters. We examine domains in which the term 'placebo' is used in discourse: clinical research, clinical practice, media representa...
متن کاملConductivity and Dielectric Response of Carbon- Based Composites in a Broad Frequency Range
Composites formed by a dielectric ceramic or polymer matrix and a conductive filler are very interesting materials since their physical properties, such as optical, electrical and magnetic properties as well as tribological, corrosion-resistance and wear properties can be tailored, which makes them attractive for many new electronic, optical, magnetic and structural applications. In particular,...
