چکیده
Objective: The present study aimed to throw some light on phytochemical constituents of Matricaria (cammomile) flowers. Results: 95% ethanolic crude extract was subjected column chromatography and nine fractions were collected. Fractions 1-6 have the same Rf value, (using thin layer pre-coated silica gel (0.25cm). combined spectroscopic analysis; infrared spectra showed absorption at 1860, 1637 805 cm’ indicating presence c=o, c=c, c-o groups respectively. Ultra violet 250-283nm assign for flavonoids, (lit. 250-280). Finally GC/MS performed flavonoids.Crude extracts (ethanol, methanol, petroleum ether, chloroform) investigated antimicrobial activities against four strains bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Bacillus sub tills, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, two fungi: Asperigillus niger, Candida albican) with disc diffusion method, diameter growth inhibition zone ranged 15-22mm.

The crude methanolic extract of Dillenia indica Linn. (Dilleniaceae) leaves has been investigated for the evaluation of antimicrobial and cytotoxic activities. Organic solvent (n-hexane, carbon tetrachloride and chloroform) fractions of methanolic extract and methanolic fraction (aqueous) were screened for their antimicrobial activity by disc diffusion method. Besides, the fractions were screen...
