چکیده
The Calibration Microwave Radiometer (CMR) is a three-band radiometer deployed on the HY-2C satellite in near-Earth orbit, and since it launched, there are few studies presented performance of CMR to date. Therefore, this paper focuses providing an assessment brightness temperature wet troposphere correction (WTC). works at 18.7 GHz, 23.8 GHz 37 nadir-viewing direction, aligned with radar altimeter. path delay altimeter signal caused by water vapour cloud liquid content can be monitored corrected CMR. In paper, guided concept antenna pattern algorithm purely statistical method, we directly establish function between model-derived WTC calculated European Centre from Medium-Range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF) Reanalysis data, which obtain simultaneously. Firstly, principle introduced, then evaluated using reference temperatures Advanced 2 (AMR-2) Jason-3 crossover points. Furthermore, validated three ways: (1) comparing colocated measured AMR-2, (2) ECMWF, allows rapid check global scale, (3) standard deviation Sea Surface Height (SSH) difference points different retrieval methods. linear fit all non-precipitation conditions demonstrated good agreement Jason-3. addition, has obvious decrease SSH compared WTC, indicating significantly improve accuracy measurements. All assessments indicate that performances satisfying expectations fulfilling mission requirements.

Analysis and Inter-Calibration of Wet Path Delay Datasets to Compute the Wet Tropospheric Correction for CryoSat-2 over Ocean
Unlike most altimetric missions, CryoSat-2 is not equipped with an onboard microwave radiometer (MWR) to provide wet tropospheric correction (WTC) to radar altimeter measurements, thus, relying on a model-based one provided by the European Center for Medium-range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF). In the ambit of ESA funded project CP4O, an improved WTC for CryoSat-2 data over ocean is under developmen...

Comparison of simultaneous Global Positioning System (GPS) and water vapor radiometer (WVR) measurements at Goldstone over 82 days in the period between June 25 and October 6, 1996, shows agreement in zenith wet path-delay estimates to <6 mm rms. The level of agreement is consistent with the expected levels of GPS and WVR errors. This method shows considerable promise for improving the accuracy...
متن کاملEvaluation of Empirical Tropospheric Models Using Satellite-Tracking Tropospheric Wet Delays with Water Vapor Radiometer at Tongji, China
An empirical tropospheric delay model, together with a mapping function, is commonly used to correct the tropospheric errors in global navigation satellite system (GNSS) processing. As is well-known, the accuracy of tropospheric delay models relies mainly on the correction efficiency for tropospheric wet delays. In this paper, we evaluate the accuracy of three tropospheric delay models, togethe...
متن کاملPolarimetric Microwave Radiometer Calibration
A polarimetric radiometer is a radiometer with the capability to measure the correlation information between vertically and horizontally polarized electric fields. To better understand and calibrate this type of radiometer, several research efforts have been undertaken. 1) All microwave radiometer measurements of brightness temperature (7B) include an additive noise component. The variance and ...
متن کاملInvestigations into the Estimation of Tropospheric Delay and Wet Refractivity Using GPS Measurements
The principal error source in the GPS technology is a delay experienced by the GPS signal in propagating through the electrically neutral atmosphere, usually referred to as a tropospheric delay. This delay is normally calculated in the zenith direction, and is referred to as a zenith tropospheric delay. The delay consists of a zenith hydrostatic delay, which can be modeled accurately using surf...
