Breeding Short-Day Strawberry Genotypes for Cultivation in Tropical and Subtropical Regions
نویسندگان
چکیده
The main strawberry cultivars grown in tropical regions originated from breeding programs developed temperate countries, which limit the expression of their maximum productive potential when warm climates. Additionally, cultivation these depends almost entirely on imported young plants, increasing production costs. Obtaining adapted with a lower requirement for accumulation chilling hours is objective southern hemisphere. Thus, this study was to evaluate short-day genotypes, pre-selected based yield and fruit quality components through multivariate analysis, conditions. Two experiments were performed. In first one, 36 genotypes parents assessed traits (total mass, commercial mean mass fruits), soluble solids content, firmness. For selection, analysis applied using genotype (ideotype) selection index principal component analysis. second experiment, best-ranked parents, Camarosa Dover (SS), titratable acidity (TA), SS/TA ratio, ascorbic acid, phenolic compounds, total anthocyanins. To identify most promising data analyzed RVFS06CR-105, RVDA11CR-61, RVDA11CR-125, RVCS44CR-130 conditions, components. means found higher than Dover, Camino Real, Camarosa. use efficient selecting repeatability information between methods guaranteeing consistency information. selected had yields those used as control, result considering independence relation genetic material, mainly expansion area addition, are being evaluated different climate aim validating them submission registration release process farmers. they source genes crossings new selections.

Infective Causes of Stroke in Tropical Regions
Vascular diseases of the brain are the second reason of the death and the first cause of morbidity and disability worldwide. In tropical areas stroke has some particular features related to the nature of torrid zones. There are some special causes of the stroke, mainly infectious, although some of them are non-infectious. The most important etiologies are malaria, tuberculosis, cysticercosis, s...
متن کاملThe marine algae Sargassum spp. (Sargassaceae) as feed for sheep in tropical and subtropical regions.
The objective of this study was to evaluate Sargassum meal as feed for sheep through the measures of in vivo digestibility, dry matter degradability, pH, ammonia and volatile fatty acids in rumen. The Sargassum algae used in this experiment were collected at the end of spring, when they are more abundant, bigger, and have completed their reproductive cycle. Four tons (wet weigth) were collected...

SUMMARY Thyroid hormones and their receptors in the ovaries are active regulators of reproductive function; both hyper-and hypo-thyroidism may result in estrous cycle disturbances. In addition, thyroid hormones elicit an extraordinary multiplicity of biochemical, cellular, and physiological responses, both in the simplest and the most complex organisms. On the other hand, glutamate, the main ex...
