Breast Angiosarcoma: Imaging Features With Histopathologic Correlation

چکیده
Abstract Breast angiosarcoma is a rare malignancy of endothelial origin that can be categorized as primary (PAS) or secondary (SAS) based on etiology. Primary typically affects younger women with no known risk factors, whereas SAS the breast develops in older who have undergone cancer treatment. There are two types SAS, one setting chronic lymphedema and radiation-associated neoplasm after breast-conserving therapy (BCT). Clinically, PAS often presents palpable mass may rapidly growing, skin changes such erythematous plaques nodules areas discoloration. Mammographically, appearance nonspecific obscured by dense tissue characteristic young patient population it affects. Cases mammographically occult been visible at US MRI. Mammography found to less sensitive than MRI for diagnosis angiosarcoma. Angiosarcomas, both graded, depending degree differentiation, low, intermediate, high grade. Endothelial markers ERG CD31 immunohistochemical stains used support angiosarcomas. In this article, we review clinical presentation, imaging findings, associated histopathology, treatment

Is there any Correlation between Magnetic Resonance Imaging Features of Breast Lesions of BIRADS Category 4 with Histopathologic Results?
BACKGROUND To evaluate the correlation of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) features of breast lesions of Breast Imaging Reporting and Database System (BI-RADS) category 4 with histopathologic results. MATERIALS AND METHODS In a prospective study between December 2013 and April 2015, patients with suspicious mammographic and/or ultrasound findings referred for Breast MRI were evaluated. Patien...
متن کاملImaging features of estrogen-negative breast cancers: a correlation study with human epidermal growth factor type II overexpression
Background: Estrogen-negative breast cancers have different clinical course, prognostic features and treatment response in comparison to estrogen receptor-positive (ER-positive) breast cancers. Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) oncoprotein has found to have a pivotal role in natural cell growth and cell division and is suggested to be directly related to tumor invasiveness in brea...
متن کاملRe: Spinal epidural hemangiomas: various types of MR imaging features with histopathologic correlation.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Because of the high vascularization of hemangiomas, preoperative misinterpretation may result in unexpected intraoperative hemorrhage and incomplete resection, which results in the persistence of clinical symptoms or recurrence. Our purpose was to analyze various MR imaging features of a spinal epidural hemangioma with histopathologic correlation. MATERIALS AND METHODS ...
متن کاملRenal leiomyoma: ultrasonography and computed tomography features with histopathologic correlation.
Renal leiomyomas are not uncommon mesenchymal neoplasms of the kidney, found in 5% of autopsy specimens and comprising 0.3% of all treated tumors. These tumors arise from the smooth muscle cells of the kidney and are mostly located in the renal capsule. Typical imaging features of renal leiomyomas include a peripheral location, well-defined margins, and hyperattenuation on nonenhanced computed ...
متن کاملCerebral aspergillosis: MR imaging and histopathologic correlation.
The authors report a case of intracranial aspergillosis secondary to immunosuppression. Signal intensity changes in the lesion on brain MR are compared with gross and histopathologic findings at autopsy. A peripheral ring of low signal intensity relates to a dense population of Aspergillus hyphal elements and small areas of hemorrhage. CT findings are included for comparison.
