BREACH OF PSYCHOLOGICAL CONTRACTS AND DISCRETIONARY BEHAVIOUR IN NIGERIAN ACADEMICS

This study explored the breach of psychological contracts and discretionary behaviour by Nigerian academics. A survey was employed to elicit information from 378 academics that were randomly selected 7,131 in federal universities North-Central Nigeria. The results hypotheses testing revealed most zone did not comply with contract (as supported negative statistical estimates Levene’s t-values). There a positive correlation between organisational citizenship (OCB) as well relationship deviant workplace (DWB) (r=0.196; p<0.05 r=0.126; p<0.05, respectively). has influenced different ways showing tendency for OCB DWB. Unfortunately, DWB outweigh OCB. Therefore, who uphold despite perceived BPC should be encouraged sustain their good behaviour.
